It´s a struggle each and every year to get thecity support, but through the engagement of the local youth-department and council of Kastel, we got it going, each and every year.read more |
How ever, here we have fullest support and are enabled to continue what wasnt possible at the Schlachthof anymore – creating a Gallery of Graffiti-Art as part of urban development.
The city of Wiesbaden is located in central Germany and is the capital of the state of Hessen. It is on the right, northern, bank of the river Rhine and lies opposite the city of Mainz on the other side of the river.
With about 300.000 inhabitants it is located west of Frankfurt am Main. The city is also in the Rhein-Main Metropolitan area with Frankfurt, Mainz and others put together, consisting of about 5.8 million people
Mainz-Kastel is a district administered by the city of Wiesbaden, Germany and was formerly a district of the city of Mainz, until August 10, 1945 when Allied Occupation Forces decided to reform the boarder to achieve easier control of the Occupation Zones.
The Rhine now formed the border between the American sector and the French sector. Mainz-Kastel faces the city of Mainz on the opposite shore of the river.
Alleged German participation to aid Iraqi production of weapons of mass destruction
Two thousand Iranians who received injuries due to chemical warfare during the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) submitted an indictment some years ago with a Tehran court against nine companies that had provided Saddam Hussein, then president of Iraq, with precursors of the chemical agents used in the Iran-Iraq War. Several American and European companies provided aid to Iraq during its war with Iran.
18. December 2008 – The german Government responds with significant criticism to Amnesty International and Oxfam Germany because of today’s arms export report 2007. The major concern were particularly licenses for exports of small arms, tanks or warships in countries with questionable human rights situation in crisis areas.
Germany, for example, delivered to Turkey over a hundred Leopard 2 tanks, despite the ongoing conflict in the Kurdish areas. For Pakistan, the federal government extensive supply of torpedoes and air-to-air missiles. The federal government claimed for itself a restrictive arms export policy. However, the number of approved exports of machine guns and rapid fire guns almost doubled compared to 2006. “It raises the question of what the federal government has led to transfer arms to countries with such a problematic situation of human rights to approve,” says John Mathias, arms expert at Amnesty International. The late publication of the report also showed that transparency was not intentional. “The Federal Government supports a restrictive international weapons trade agreements – with our own export practice as a bad example,” says Robert Lindner, director of the arms control campaign for Oxfam Germany.
Also faces criticism on the decision of the Federal Government, in the arms export report on dual-use goods (both military and civil use), as well as so-called security technology (electro-shock weapons, etc.) to report. Amnesty International has documented that, in particular, the latter repeatedly for human rights violations can be used.
