It seems like our local orga in Greece is coming up with a very impressive spot and program including an expo, Breakdance-Battles and much more.

Live2store presents to you, for the fifth time in a row, the most important graffiti festival in Greece and specifically at Thessaloniki, the Graffiti metropolis.

The spot is located next to a school-yard in the municipality of Neapoli and has 6 different walls spread among a cultural building and the school. Beside the painting of the buildings there will be skate-ramps, music, an exhibition of canvases plus the greek Battle-Of-The-Year 2009.

	MOS – fresher and different from all the previous years in many ways. Meeting point will be the Cultural Youth Center of Municipality of Neapoli, on the contribution of Zakka and Didimotichou streets.
For this year 6 different surfaces (buildings) where choosen to be painted with main topic around ecology and the environment. Six different teams of each 8 to 10 artists will paint every part of the walls.
	This year’s lineup is smaller in the perspective of quantity but stronger on quality by all means: Macs and Etnik from Italy will visit Saloniki for the first time along with 3Steps crew representing Germany. Naste, Esteo, Erase and Arsek from Bulgaria will complete the guests team.

The group will be completed with the Greek lineup, 65 of its finest writers will join their forces with the foreign guests. Program: In the 8th of May, Meeting of Styles and Battle of The Year warm up parties will light up our moods at EightBall bar(Ladadika area), right in the heart of the old part of Thessaloniki.

Inside the Cultural Youth Center of Neapoli, a canvas exhibition will take place on Monday the 4th until Thursday 14th of May. This expo is a new feature of the MOS – the Meeting of Styles Art Gallery.

	50 artists will decorate the gallery with their works of art. On the opening day (Monday the 4th ) of the exhibition and at 20:30 am, the art gallery will welcome all of you under Kid Stretch’s grooving beats.
On Saturday 9th of May, Graffiti menu will feed all eyes that will smartly attend the meeting spot, with the live performance of all artist and the painting of the 6 different surfaces, dj’s, b-boys, bmx and skate riders

Graffiti starts about 11:00am. at the same time well known Hip Hop dj’s will color the atmosphere with beats and skills while Micro Xtreme will provide bmx and skate ramps for a thrilling contest.

All will take scene at the school yard in front of the buildings. Saturday night will be as tight as possible, with the world’s biggest break dance battle ever, the Balkanian Battle Of The Year 2009 at the indoors Gymnastics arena of Katsanio stadium. The final touches on the graffiti mural will take place on Sunday the 10th of May – time to chill and hang out.

Το Live2store για πέμπτη (5η) συνεχόμενη φορά σας παρουσιάζει το πιο σημαντικό Φεστιβάλ Graffiti στην Ελλάδα, και συγκεκριμένα στην μητρόπολη του Graffiti την Θεσσαλονίκη.

Το Meeting Of Styles φέτος πολύ πιο ανανεωμένο και διαφορετικό από άλλες χρονιές. Φέτος το φεστιβάλ αλλάζει μορφή και πραγματοποιείται σε προσόψεις κτιρίων. Το μέρος συνάντησης είναι στον Δ. Νεάπολης στο χώρο του Πολυδύναμου Κέντρου Νεολαίας του Δήμου. Οι επιφάνειες που θα ζωγραφιστούν είναι το κτίριο του Πολυδύναμου Κέντρου Νεολαίας του Δ. Νεάπολης και ακριβώς απέναντι οι επιφάνειες του Δημοτικού Σχολείου επί της Οδού Ζάκκα και Διδυμοτείχου.
Έξι επιφάνειες 12 μέτρων μήκος και ύψους 10 με 12 μέτρα, ντυμένες με σκαλωσιά, για 6 διαφορετικά θέματα τα οποία θα είναι το περιβάλλον και η οικολογία , 70 καλλιτέχνες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό συναντιούνται με ένα κοινό σκοπό την υλοποίηση των τοιχογραφιών.

Αυτόν τον χρόνο το line up είναι πιο μικρό από άποψη συμμετοχών, αλλά πιο δυνατό από άποψη καλλιτεχνών:
Macs και Etnik από την Ιταλία έρχονται πρώτη φορά μαζί με τους Γερμανούς 3Steps. Aπό Βουλγαρία όπου κάθε χρόνο στηρίζουν τον θεσμό του Meeting Of Styles Naste, Esteo ,Erase and Arsek.

Από την Ελλάδα θα παραβρεθούν 60 από τους καλύτερους και ενεργούς writers στον χώρο του Graffiti.

Την Δευτέρα 4 Μαΐου μέσα στο κτίριο του Πολυδύναμου Κέντρου Νεολαίας του Δ. Νεάπολης όπου θα υλοποιηθεί η τοιχογραφία του Meeting, θα πραγματοποιηθεί έκθεση με καμβάδες. Η έκθεση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στα πλαίσια του Meeting of Styles (Meeting of Styles Art Gallery). Η διάρκεια της θα είναι από τις 4 Μαΐου έως και τις 14 Μαΐου. 50 καλλιτέχνες θα διακοσμήσουν τον χώρο με τα έργα τους. Τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης θα πραγματοποιηθούν στις 4 Μαΐου και συγκεκριμένα στις 20:30 μ.μ το βράδυ, με την μουσική υπόκρουση του dj Kid Stretch

Την Παρασκευή 8 Μαΐου θα πραγματοποιηθούν τα εναρκτήρια πάρτυ για το Meeting Of Styles και το Battle of The Year στο bar -EightBall, στα λαδάδικα κέντρο της Θεσσαλονίκης.

Το Σάββατο 9 Μαΐου είναι η κυρίως μέρα. Το κυρίως μενού είναι το Graffiti και
επιφάνειες που θα ζωγραφιστούν είναι το κτίριο του Πολυδύναμου Κέντρου Νεολαίας του Δ. Νεάπολης και ακριβώς απέναντι οι επιφάνειες του Δημοτικού Σχολείου επί της Οδού Ζάκκα και Διδυμοτείχου. H έναρξη του Graffiti θα πραγματοποιηθεί γύρω στις 11:00 π.μ. Παράλληλα με το με το Graffiti θα υπάρχει μουσική και θα παίξουν γνωστοί Dj’s της Hip Hop κουλτούρας.
Επίσης ράμπες για skate και bmx αφού πρόκειται να πραγματοποιηθεί Skate Contest που θα διοργανώσει το Micro Xtreme. Όλα τα παραπάνω θα πραγματοποιηθούν στο χώρο του προαυλίου χώρο του Σχολείου όπου θα πραγματοποιηθεί το graffiti.
Την ίδια μέρα το Σάββατό το βράδυ η σκιτάλη θα περάσει στον μεγαλύτερο θεσμό Breakdance παγκόσμιος το Balkanian Battle Of The Year 2009, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο κλειστό γήπεδο Κατσάνειο.

Την Κυριακή στις 10 Μαΐου θα υλοποιηθεί η τοιχογραφία σε πιο χαλαρούς ρυθμούς. www.live2store.com – www.meetingofstyles.com

The 2008 civil unrest in Greece started in December, when Alexandros Grigoropoulos, a 15-year-old student, was fatally shot by a policeman.

The shooting occurred after an altercation between a police patrol and a small group of youths in the Exarcheia district of central Athens. Read the whole story at the end of this post.The death resulted in large protests and demonstrations, which escalated to widespread rioting, with hundreds of rioters damaging property and engaging riot police with Molotov cocktails, stones and other objects. Demonstrations and rioting soon spread to several other cities, including Thessaloniki, the country’s second-largest city. Outside Greece, solidarity demonstrations, riots and, in some cases, clashes with local police also took place in a number of European cities
	including Istanbul, London, Paris, Rome, Dublin, Berlin, Frankfurt, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, The Hague, Copenhagen, Bordeaux, Seville as well as Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, and the western Cypriot city of Paphos.

While the unrest was triggered by the shooting incident, commentators described the reactions as expressing deeper causes as well, especially a widespread feeling of frustration in the younger generation about specific economic problems of the country (partly as a result of the global economic crisis), a rising unemployment rate among the young generation and a perception of general inefficiency and corruption in Greek state institutions.
