The bulgarian Meeting is established since 2006. After the event moved to Varna and Carevo, it is now coming back to the capitol Sofia.
Sofia has had several names in the different periods of its existence, and remnants of the city’s millenary history can still be seen today alongside modern landmarks.
It is located in western Bulgaria, at the foot of the mountain massif Vitosha and is the administrative, cultural, and economic centre of the country.
It seems like their crisis is becoming more and more ours as well. After there were serious negotiations with several drink- and beverage-companies, they suddenly cut off the talks, due to the shrinking sales and profits.
It is located a little outside the city-center, in the so-called Student City, well reachable by tram and taxi and has several walls.
| Kind of sporting-yards with about 10 walls in various sizes making space for a total of approx 40 artists. | ![]() |

Bulgaria became a member of the European Union in 2007 has experienced rapid economic growth in recent years but still the country ranks as the second-poorest member state of the EU. Due to high-profile of corruption and a lack of willingness to tackle it, the EU has partly frozen EU funds. Unemployment declined from more than 17% in the mid 90s to nearly 7% in 2007, but the unemployment-rate in some rural areas continues to be high.
They appear to have connections with the Russian, Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian Mafia and the Italian Cosa Nostra.
“Other countries have the mafia,” said Atanas Atanasov, a member of Parliament and a former counterintelligence chief who is a magnet for leaked documents exposing corruption. “In Bulgaria, the mafia has the country.”
In 2003 Amnesty International received numerous reports of police ill-treatment, in some cases equivalent to torture. Most criminal suspects contacting a lawyer or family members was refused. Reportedly, they were evaluated by officials with fists, kicks, cables or electric batons, so as to extort a confession. According to police some suspects in the presence of investigators have beaten. The investigation of complaints is often lacking in independence and impartiality. In some cases, the prosecutors heard only the police suspects, but not the witnesses. Especially Roma and the turkish monority often being blamed for unemploymence, crime or robberies, just because of their ethnic group.

>a less offensive expression of critics is appreciated. though your skills of communicationseem to be limited, the fact that some might feel dissed by the picture is respected.

We are talking about the second pic (next to “Sofia is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria…”) and this is definitely NOT Sofia, it is Istanbul – a large city in Turkey!!!
