Eventhough Graffiti is strongly criminalized (carriage of spraypaint and markers is illegal), our local Orga has realised all MOS in the past and again is comingup with an intersting program and inspiring line-up of artists.

New city, new vibes, new skills! For the first time MOS is visiting the serbian capital Belgrade.

Belgrade is the capital and largest city of Serbia, lies at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, where the Pannonian Plain meets the Balkans.

With a population of 1,630,000 it is the third largest city in Southeastern Europe, after Istanbul and Athens. Its name in Serbian translates to White city.

Belgrade has the status of a separate territorial unit in Serbia, with its own autonomous city government and is the central economic hub of Serbia and the capital of education and science.

Its territory is divided into 17 municipalities, each having its own local council and covers 3.6% of the territory of Serbia and 24% of the country’s population lives in the city.

For the first time the MOS is coming to this major hub in the Balkans. Expect some interesting and inspiring skills from the southeast of Europe.

The IMT wall is located next to a fabric in New Belgrade on the main avenue.

It`s about 2.30m tall and about 200m long and is located at the very center of the city. It has a big park in front so it`s perfect for such a happening.

For the first time in New Jersey. The MOS comes to Paterson hall of fame in New Jersey, at school #15.
This historic event will happen on August 28th & 29th. Artists From NJ, NY, PuertoRico, Israel, will take part in making the MOS biggest event in the east-side.

New Jersey is bordered on the northeast by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania and on the southwest by Delaware.

It lies largely within the sprawling metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia and is the most densely populated state in the United States.

The option came in, the spot was nice, the date matched. No doubt we had to get it in: Welcome to the opening of the US-Meetings with a funky and colourfull pre-meeting at Labour-day in NJ Paterson presented by the Urban Art Foundation. MOS partners up with Ree, Sueworks, Mear and the Urban Arts Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to protecting and preserving graffiti art.

The U.A.F is sponsoring this year’s Meeting of Styles in Paterson to make history at the Paterson’s Hall of fame, making a new chapter in Jersey graffiti. Ree, Sue, Mear & U.A.F are working hard on making the M.O.S in NJ and NY the best graff event, while achieving the goal that MOS has set.

The wall is located in a school-yard and gives space for a solid production. Many interesting, famous and inspiring artists have confirmed their participation.

The name 5Pointz signifies five boroughs coming together as one

but, because of its reputation as an epicenter of the graffiti scene, the industrial complex has actually united aerosol artists from across the world.

5ptz is prepping as many walls ready to go and will also get breakers and djs out there, a gallery exhibit is part of the plan as well.

Therefore foreign artists are welcome to submit works!

We had managed to keep the location of this years jam a secret for a long time.

We are proud to present the first Meeting Of Styles! The place to be: the malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur (translated as: “muddy confluence,” “muddy estuary,” and “muddy city” is the capital and largest city of Malaysia. The city has an estimated population of 1.6 million, the urban agglomeration of 7.2 million. It is the fastest growing metropolitan region in the country, in terms of population as well as economy and also the cultural and economic centre of Malaysia due to its position as the capital.

RapidKL is the operator of two light rail transit (LRT) lines, the largest stage bus and feeder bus operator in Kuala Lumpur, and also operates the single line of the KL Monorail and parts of the KLIA transit service.

The entire rail network operated by RapidKL is 56 km long and has 49 stations. In 2008, these two lines carry a total of over 350,000 passengers daily. The rail network consists of the Ampang Line and the Kelana Jaya Line, which were opened in 1995 and 1998 respectively.
	Along with the KTM Komuter and Kuala Lumpur Monorail networks, this system constitutes the core of public transport in Kuala Lumpur.

The two lines were constructed and initially operated by different owners. In 2004, operational aspects of the two LRT lines were transferred to RapidKL under the second phase of the restructuring process of Kuala Lumpur’s public transportation network.

Perpignan is a commune and the capital of the Pyrénées-Orientales department in southern France with a population of 120.000  in the city proper.

The metropolitan area has a total population of 300,000 in 2010. The city is located south of France near to the spanish boarder.

Settlement in the area go back to Roman times. Medieval town seems to have been founded around early 10th century. Besieged, captured by the French during the 30Years’ War in 1642, it was ceded by Spain 17 years later and began to form part of the Kingdom of France.

Our local Orga. has done a lot to bring you a fresh french event! Graffiti, Rap, Breakdanicng, DJing, Beatbox and Beat-making, a lot of artists from all over France have confirmed thier coming.  Be prepared for an impressive lection in Hip-Hop-culture.

The spot as you can see is a very chilly place with a nice nice wall. Be ready to experience french Graffiteurs on a top-level.

The wall has hundreds of meter length and is about 2.50m high. About 40 artists from France and beyond will work together to create one large piece of art.

An annual ceremony called “The Procession de la Sanchis” is held in several towns in France and opens Easter holy week. Historically, a distinctive peaked, masked robe is used to protect the identity of prisoners (from revenge by those wronged) being led to their town’s annual execution.

This practical ceremony intermingled with Christian traditions of Good Friday and a today a long procession of black-robed people are led in silence

by someone in a red robe to the solemn tapping of a tambourine, as part of the Good Friday celebrations.

Since the destruction of the worldwide known gallery it has never been easy to realise the event.

After several years of mad critics, the efforts of our conservative critics have finally resulted in a cancellation of the city support and it seemed like they finally achieved their target to get rid of the Meeting.

But however, to this day they fortunately didnt succeed.

Beside of the strong back-up within the scene which always enables us, we have applied for funding of the European Union and have succeeded. Unlike some of the conservative  critics, “Youth In Action”  considers the value of the MOS and decided to support us!

	So once again we bring you another impressive chapter of international colaboration and exchange.
Art must stay free and independent! A huge underpass-complex at the bench of the Rhine containing more than 3000qm space on several walls, well reachable by train, car and bus.
	The first events already happened late 90ies. Since then the underpass has completely changed from ghetto to an art-gallery.

The main walls in the underpass have space for about 80-100 artists and are created in huge concepts. The original Brückenkopf represents the biggest Mural-Art-Gallery among Rhine-Main and beyond.

The spot: the wellknown Red factory at the bench of the Zurich-lake

Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland with a population of approx 400.000 and 1million in its urban areas.

The city is Switzerland’s main commercial and cultural centre and due to the concentration of financial power it is widely considered to be one of the world’s global cities.

According to several surveys the city should have the “best quality of life” in the world. It is a hub for rail, road, air and money traffic.

Eventhough there are many ugly walls around the city, and we really had some nice spots on the screen, but unfortunatley the municipality is still  conservative and restricitve towards Graffiti- and Mural-Art.

Nevertheless swiss Graffiti has a long history and remains strong in the days of conservatism.So welcome back to this island of multi-cultural creativity and exchange. The factory is located on the bench of the lake and an established cultural institution, self organised and independent.
	The factory has a lot of nice walls in various sizes for single pieces as well as for complex roductions. Stay tuned. More coming up!

The international graffiti event again comes to Switzerland

The four elements of hip hop will be brought together and celebrated for the 8th time in Switzerland . Over 60 professional writers from Switzerland and abroad will recreate the walls of the Red Factory, according to the international theme of “beyond materialism.” Accompanied by well-known DJs, rap deposits, concerts and breakdancing moves opens the Meeting of Styles Switzerland the gates for all art and culture – lovers of HipHop.

Four elements of HipHop… The meeting includes not only the element, ‚graffiti ‘, but represents all areas of hip hop culture: In addition to the design of the walls, attractive framework around the open-air gallery will be offered from Friday to Sunday. Well-known DJs, local rap and hot freestyle sessions, just as the free workshops for children and young people in breakdancing, rap, graffiti and DJ-ing. The Meeting of Styles is free to visit and the bar and grill directly in the courtyard of the Red Factory offers optimum seating, to watch the artists in their work.

Tolerance and acceptance
In Switzerland it is not easy to find good space for an international graffiti jam, as in many cities anti-graffiti campaigns run, and legal graffiti will not be tolerated. It is therefore a concern of the association “Meeting of Styles Switzerland” to show a broad audience the phenomenon of graffiti from its positive and artistic side. Manuel Gerullis, initiator of the world’s “Meeting of Styles” explains: “The aim of the meeting is one the one hand, to strengthen the network in the scene and the artists a forum to offer. Other hand, we want to raise awareness for a constructive dealing with the graffiti art and identify ways to integrate. This is the foundation for mutual acceptance. ”
