Due to the processes of bureaucrazy the italian Meeting had to be delayed to October.

But nevertheless our local orga is coming through with a new impressive spot.

After 5 successful Meetings in Padua and Mestre-Venice, with more than 4500 square meters of painted surfaces, the Meeting of Styles is back to Mestre by the support of Urban-Code.

In Italy the place chosen is the Bissuola Park, the green heart of Mestre. Since the early 90s the Park Bissuola was a meeting place for various realities of young people in the city, including skaters and writers.

For years Urban Code, affiliates and the local writers claimed this space, even for the younger generations.

Because of the Meeting of Styles the opportunity has raised to bring the best italian writers  together to leave their marks on the walls and redevelop the surfaces.

We want to involve citizens, associations and institutions in a constructive debate on the issues of spaces, the degradation and failure of national policies of repression. The Meeting of Styles in Venice will be a free event, open to the citizens, a festive occasion and reflection to meet people and…  Meeting Of Styles: styles of letters and illustrations produced on site with a rich selection of the best Italian writers.

Propaganda Due or P2, is a Masonic lodge operating under the jurisdiction of the Grand Orient of Italy from 1945 to 1976 (when its charter was withdrawn), and a pseudo-Masonic or “black” or “covert” lodge operating illegally. During the years that the lodge was headed by Licio Gelli, P2 was implicated in numerous Italian crimes and mysteries, including the nationwide bribe scandal Tangentopoli, the collapse of the Vatican-affiliated Banco Ambrosiano, and the murders of journalist Mino Pecorelli and banker Roberto Calvi. P2 came to light through the investigations into the collapse of Michele Sindona’s financial empire and is sometimes referred to as a “state within a state” or a “shadow government”. The spot is located in a suburb of this metropolis. As we had a tremendous interest of artists to participate, we apologise we are not able to consider everybody and supply everybody with paint and wall. Our budgets in terms of space and cans are simply restricted.So if you are not on the list, dont be mad with us, come along make connections, meet people and have a great time.

	It´s a nice chilly yard surrounded by several walls and buildings.
The plan beside painting is chill and grill with djs spinning and more entertainement alongside.

	All underground railways carry  5 million people on an average weekday. Afew new underground lines constructed are expected to add another million people to the system within the next five years.
The projects expected to expand São Paulo’s urban railway system from the current 323 km to more than 500 km on the next 10 years.

Portugal received the Meeting of Styles for the first time in 2003, when the city of Caldas da Rainha played host to one of the biggest graffiti collaborations in the southern European country.

After years of audacious plans and cancellations, the country is gain on the graffiti world map.

Lisbon is the capital and largest city of Portugal. Its municipality, which matches the city proper excluding the larger continuous conurbation, has a population of 564,477, while the Metropolitan Area in total has around 2.8 million inhabitants, and 3.34 million people live in the broader agglomeration of Metropolitan Region.

2009 sees the city of Seixal (located in the south bank of the River Tagus, opposite Lisbon) host the event for the first time. The Meeting Of Styles 2009 will take place during the Seixal Graffiti, an event on its 6th onsecutive year,
	and the only nationwide graffiti meeting in the country. The Seixal City Hall puts the event together and it will also feature various competitions, skate ramps and entertainment.

Babelgum Metropolis is looking for the globe’s best and edgiest artists for the world’s biggest art show (probably!).

Winners will have their work shown on giant advertising screens in Times Square, the neon heart of New York City.Not only will you share your artwork with millions in the world’s contemporary art capital, you’ll also enjoy the kudos of being a maverick art squatter among New York’s most expensive advertising real estate!

Winners will be chosen by iconic arthouse actress and video artist Isabella Rossellini and Cedar Lewisohn, curator of the 2008 ‘Street Art’ exhibition at the Tate Modern in London.

Coming up another MOS you shouldn´t miss. As always the mexican Orga will present you a crazy spot with lots of mexican and latin-american artistas.

Mexico City is the capital of Mexico, its  economic, industrial, and cultural center in the country, and the most populous city, with about 8,836,045 inhabitants in 2008.

Greater Mexico City incorporates 88 adjacent municipalitie and has a population exceeding 19 million people, making it third largest agglomeration in the world.

Mexico is wellknown and famous for its Writing- and Graffiti-scene.

Very vibrant with a large variety of styles, writers, crews and artists. Throw-ups, Tags, Quicks everywhere – outside the city-center hardly no unmarked wall to be found.

Mexican scene is strong and on a very high-level. The place to be in 09: the funky district of Nezahualcoyotl.

Currently there is a Drug War taking place between rival drug cartels and government forces in Mexico.

Although Mexican drug cartels or trafficking organizations, have existed for quite some time, they have become more powerful since the demise of Colombia’s Cali and Medellín cartels in the 1990s.

Mexican drug cartels now dominate the wholesale illicit drug market in the United States. Arrests of key cartel leaders, particularly in the Tijuana and Gulf cartels, have led to increasing drug violence as cartels fight for control of the trafficking routes into the United States.

As we had to cancel the East- an the West-Coast Meetings, we are happy Chicago is coming through.

This year it wasn´t easy get it going, but nevertheless we were able to realise all MOS so far. So far, because of the originally three scheduled US-Meetings, the decision is to cancel the East- and West-Coast MOS.

	After loosing most of our budgets and working with limited budget all year, we simply couldn´t arrange enough free paint to ensure the high-level-outcomethe MOS represents.
Though we were about to return to a nice nice spot in NYC, time was running out and the lack of cans caused the decision to cancel.

We apologise for not coming through all the way, but are happy to get back to the windy city with a nice schedule of party, painting and artshows featuring and bringing together artists from the East and the West in the Mid.

Coming all the way from the East: the living legends Cope2, Part, Fred One, Indie and Sloan. Coming from the West are Hyde, Vyal, Denz, Surge and Lucita to meet Chicago artists Flash, Rome, Kato, Thos, Stef, Demon, Trixter, Nerd, Zore, Risk and many more.

The Meeting-spot: the famous Walls Of Style at Little Village, a hood around Kedzie and 30th, near Albany. Zore, Knomadz and SB again are hosting the event presenting you Deluxe-Art on walls and canvases. Additionally Babelgum brings you moving pictures of the movie “Bomb It”.

The Opening-night is typically free to the public and has had great turn-out in previous years.

Friday Sept. 18th: M.O.S. artist meet & greet at Studio 54B, 2128 S. Halsted, 7pm-12am. This is the night before the painting begins. We start it off with live art gallery/dj & open mic performances at Studio 54B – a local artist run gallery in the trendy art haven Chicago neighborhood of Pilsen.
	Saturday Sept. 19th: M.O.S. daytime jam and wall painting at Crawford Steel Yard, 3100 W. 36th St. This is when all the action begins!
Over 200 graffiti artists from Chicago and the world collaborating on more than a dozen walls in the Little Village neighborhood of Southwest Chicago.

The main walls and daytime jam will be at Crawford Steel which is approximately 2 city blocks long. It also has a parking lot that will be used for the daytime jam which will feature djs and performers.

While some believe the roots of graffiti can be traced back to pre-linguistic cave markings and the innate human need for self-expression, graffiti remains a highly controversial issue.

DJs: Nobley Nobe, DJMP, B.Vax, Alo. Performers: Ang 13, Blunt Crew, Sidewalk Skolaz, Brickheadz (bboy crew). The jam will be from 12pm(noon) until 7pm.
Red Bull Energy Drink will supply dj set up/sound system and plenty of Red Bull and bottles of water!

The other walls are on a 10 block span down Kedzie Avenue from 25th st. to 36th st. These walls are situated in between 2 public train lines and one block from I-55 expressway.

- E.S.P. (eastern, sentral, pacific) Gallery Show at Rumble Arts Center, 3413 W. North Ave, 7pm-12am. This is a Tri-Coastal Graffiti Art Showcase featuring some of the world’s most prominent graf writers. Artists for this event: East Coast(New York); Fred One, Sloan, Part, Fuzz, Poem, West Coast (San Fran, L.A., Japan); Hyde, Vyal, Denz, Shiro. Chicago; Flash, Rome, Kato, Thor, Stef, Demon, Trixter, Nerd, Chucho, Zore. This event will incorporate installations, canvas, live art, and djs/performers. The cost for the public is minimal at $5 per attendee and drinks for $2-5. This is an all ages event, with drink bracelets for 21 and up patrons. Security will be provided by off-duty Chicago Police Officers.

- Sunday Sept. 20th: M.O.S. wall completion day. Get your cameras out! This day is mostly for finishing walls started the day before with a chill Sunday afternoon barbeque.

It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce the fourth edition of Meeting Of Styles Montreal, a event celebrating the 30th anniversary of legendary New York City based crew, The Cool 5ive (TC5).

Art collectors and followers of this creative culture are welcomed to join us in Montreal from September 4th to 6th 2009.

On September 4th at 5pm, at 251 St-Catherine East (Underworld   shop), The official TC5 30th  anniversary artshow will open in Montreal. Selected, exclusive and original paintings by crew members will be on display. As the project is primarily an online artshow, the works will be availble on www.TC5-30.com. The crew has none the less accepted to hold an exclusive opening with us, here in Montreal.

The artshow, in Montreal for one night only, shall turn into a party until the early morning. Well established and respected Montreal club DJ’s Truspin, Maysr and Sagewondah are on the bill as selectors for the night.

September 5th  and 6th, all day at 1825 Cabot  (Papiers MPC, Ville-Émard), the immense outdoor murals  will be painted. Forty artists from Paris, Toronto, Puerto Rico, Boston and Montreal will join the members of TC5 crew for the second part of the weekend. Photographer Ulysse Lemerise (yulphoto.ca) will be documenting the project.

The “International Meeting of Styles” (MOS) is an international network of graffiti artists and aficionados that began in Wiesbaden, Germany in 2002. Brought together and  inspired by their passion for graffiti, MOS aims to create a forum for the international art community to communicate, assemble and exchange ideas, works and skills, but also to support intercultural exchange. In the spirit of cooperation and promotion, since 2002 MOS has launched over 75 events in sixteen countries across Europe, Russia and America.

The polish MOS is established since 2002 and is the major Graffit-Event in Poland. This year for the second time the event was hosted in Wroclaw. The outcome is great!

Wrocław is the chief city of the historical region of Lower Silesia in south-western Poland, situated on the Oder river. Since 1999 it has been the capital of Lower Silesian Voivodeship. According to official population figures for 2006, its population is 635,280, making it the fourth largest city in Poland.

Since 2005, kolektyf crew, has been organizing every year, an urban art festival called Graffiti Non Stop which we decided to merge with the Meeting of Styles, so that the local orga can make more than one action every year. Cooperation of young people made GNS another big and influential action of the middle European graffiti scene, which we proudly present. The idea is actually spreading to other cities, taking the control over the walls around the whole country.

One of the goals is to use street art to organize creative actions in the city space. Every year many artists from Poland and foreign countries are invited to join the strength imparting new nature to the walls in our cities. Equally we animate public space, where through interaction between artists and passers-by, we build positive view of graffiti. In Wroclaw, we painted the 500m long ZOO wall last year and during previous events we revitalized passages and pillars of flyovers on the Spoleczny Square (2005-2007).

In 2008 year we have done a spatial installation in the heart of the city with additional actions like live music and live painting of public transport vehicles. A crowning achievement of this event was organizing MOS (Meeting of Styles) together with Skate Boarding Non Stop competition, at the city skate park.

Starting in the last year we have launched cooperation with new societies from other cities in Poland, like European Foundation for Urban Culture from Warsaw (publishers of previous Brain Damage Magazine) and Society Magnifiko from Lublin, where there has been created a large mural with graffiti interpretation of religious motives of this historically very rich city. It’s important that’s GNS is not typical graffiti-jam action. The uniqueness of GNS has its source in putting an emphasis on a previously fixed general convention (different for each edition). It is also in heading to gather a flock of people, who will be working on the development of one idea based on the variety of projects. We hope to cooperate not only with graffiti crews from all over the world, but also with local authorities, administration or volunteers. And last, but not least, we would like our cities to rip all the gray, hideous objects away.

Ireland is an interesting place to be, the spot unique and historical.

Ireland was one of the first countries to join the MOS back in 2002. If everything works out, this could be a very special event, you shouldn´t miss.

It hasn´t been easy to get the MOS on, but finally it worked out.

By the help of the local people, we are proud to be able to paint one of the most historical and political walls of Europe. Let´s get together in the spirit of colaboration and enjoy the turn of grey into colours.

The place to be: the famous Peace-Wall of Belfast. Off Larnock Way in the Shankill district, west Belfast. This road also runs parallel to the Springfield Road.The jam went perfect! There was some rain on Saturday but Sunday was sunshine and pretty much everyone who confirmed would come showed up!The locals of the neighborhood were very happy and now well over half the wall is covered in pieces and productions . Many many tourists came by and stopped to talk with the artists, as did the local kids and overall there was a much bigger reaction than the first time the wall got painted . Its crazy but now when u drive by the walls it seems to have become smaller  with all the pieces on it. Also it has made the traffic go slower as they look at the art, which is a good thing !

elfast is the capital of Northern Ireland. It is the largest urban area in Northern Ireland and the province of Ulster and the second-largest city on the island of Ireland.

After the great succes of the spanish MOS in 08, we are glad for the decision of Lleida and Urban Warriors to bring the Meeting back.

Lleida is a city in the west of Catalonia, Spain. It had 124,709 inhabitants as of 2005, including the attached municipalities of Raïmat and Sucs.

It is the central city of the province of the same name. Lleida is the capital city of the comarca county Segrià and the province that takes its name.

Its economy is mostly based on commerce and services, being one of the most important population and economic inland centres in Catalonia. The city is located one hour by car west of Barcelona.
