It was damned hot down there in the desert! Got there late at night, checked the motel, found a club, had a couple of beers. When we came back to the motel, we checked the TV and what happened? Channel 1 – nothing. Channel 2 – nothing. Channel 3: yeah! Hardcore pornos straight through 24 hours.

Early in the morning, we got ready to hit the spot. As we got there, already about 30 writers were on the set. We primed the wall and started to work on our production – cans with our names on.
	It already was hot before high-noon, so we headed to a grocery to get some cold liquids. As we got back, some stress was on the scene. A noise – bam bam bam – so we thought: Damned who is shooting?”
Writers were in pressure and as we came close, we checked what the happened. Obviously the owner of the wall and the spot didnt tell his security-guards about what happened on this day. So the boys in the yard were throwing stones against the metal-gate. Once you heard that, you can imagine what it sounds like.

After a phone-call and a talk with the landlord, this problem was solved and everybody got back to work. The sun was burning and it was not easy to fullfill the plan. The place was not this kind of place where you just lay down to get a sunteint. But eventhough people came along to watch, to chill, to meet and to have a good time.

Some kids ran around the neighborhood bombing and tagging. A mad landlord came by, complaining about his “beautiful” white wall that has been bombed hard. We agreed to get buff-paint and clean it up. First it was cool with him, but after he called the police.

	Didnt take long and the cops hit the scene. They were about to arrest everybody and told the local-organiser: “You pay hundred dollars and everything is fine. If you dont pay, we arrest everybody and each of you has to pay a hundred. So think about it!”
It didnt take long to make the right decision, so money had to be collected to for the “buy-out-of-prison”-fee. Due to this circumstances writers who came from the West-coast to rock the walls were not guided to the walls to avoid additonal troubles with the mad cops. Desperado country!

The spot of the LA break down was at 7562 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles in an alley behind Workmens. The weather was great as well as the vibe. Got there early in the morning,
	the entire alley was crowded with active writers and writers who came just to meet people and to hang out. Walls were already about to be primed, artists started to rock. People came by watching and everything was pretty chill!

Later the day bike-cops came by asking for the permission. “Hey Johnny. You know something about 30 Graffiti-Writers in an alley at Melrose?” one of them asked in his walkie-talkie.
	When the cops came by, everybody was hiding his beer. Looked funny. “No problem Jim, the guys have a permission.” So everything was chill. The cops were quite curious, asking questions and wondering how Graf is being done.

The old LA-Hall-Of-Fame “Belmont”-Tunnel with more than 1000qm wallspace located near downtown LA was still available to paint in 2004. This is the spot wherewhere the famous Hex/Slick-Battles happened back in the days. The city planed to demolish it and to create some buildings.

LA is a crazy place. The public transport-system is weak, only busses run, no subway. LA is so spread that without a car you are lost out there. You drive through and you can find huge wall-producitons here or there. LA-graf-scene is pretty big and strong.

Similar story like in many cities all over the planet. Some upshowing writers: Aero, Zore, TKO-Crew, Sever, Fear, Anger, Gigs, Vox, Sherm, Mediah, Yours (Germany), Nada One (Switzerland) and more.

All walls were well reachable in a short walk. Total wallspace approx 1000squaremeters. As friday most of the heads still had to work the jam started saturday early in the morning. Everythong was organised perfect. Writers and crews had their walls reserved.

So very early everybody was already rocking. Later the day a soundsystem and freestylers were taking over one of the viaducts in the middle. Breakdancers were spinning and batteling and everything was cool.
	Later in the evening around 9 everybody got ready to leave. We were wondering because of the sudden hurry. “This is not a place to hang out at night, this is the ghetto.” was the answer.>

Right away civil cops came by asking what we were doing out there and telling us to leave the scene.

Five minutes after a car came by, guys rolling the window down, asking us, if we want to buy guns “only 150, 200 bucks”. “No man, we aint down with this. We use cans not guns” was our answer. As we were told another story happened after we left.
	At one of the viaducts, writers were still hanging around. Kids came by, racked paint and then ran away. A little time later, two bigger guys came along, pulled out a gun and held it on the head of one of the writers, asking why he gave paint to his little brother.

You must know that posession of spray-cans is illegal in Chicago. The writer told the guy and then luckily could leave.

But eventhough during the day it was quite cool. Nice people coming along to watch, hanging around, wathcing, talking, sketching and chilling. Chicago-scene is very vivid and seems to be very different from other cities as the crews really come along with each other. On the walls… MUL-Crew, ABC, Take2, The Spray Brigade, Nyke, Rafa, Jinx, Chicago’s Most Wanted and many more. It seemed like there is a good creative and cooperative vibe among the local scene.

How to find it? Coming from Midway Airport: Hop on the 59, 61 or 63 bus at the airport CTA terminal and take that bus to Racine. Walk south on Racine 1 or 4 blocks depending on which bus you take. This will take you into the center of the painting area. Preferably the 59 is the closest bus, but it is not always running. Coming from O’hare Airport: Hop on the Blue Line. Take the Blue line downtown and exit at the Washington stop. Take the tunnel one block east to the Red Line. Hop on the Red Line going south, and take it to 55th St. At 55th St. Get on the 59 or 61 and take this bus West to Racine.

You must know that New York is a crazy place. Writing culture there is present everywhere. If you have your eyes open you may get to see tags that are 20 or 30 years old.

Beside of european writers such as Brusk, Korem, Impakt or Iggy from France, Juice from the Netherlands or Nada from Switzerland a lot of american writers have been there.
	Sen2 from TATS, Pose2, Sew or the YMI-Crew are just some heads. When we got to the wall friday night still a lot of work had to be done.

The paint-gun once again didnt work, so most of the job had to be done saturday early in the morning.

The MOS started actually on saturday morning. Around high noon more and more artists came along to present their skills on the main wall.
	Some cool guys were throwing the right vinyl to the needle, so the vibe was cool, chilly and sort of familiar.

As we didnt make so many local flyers the amount of writers and artists was just right and gave it a real scene-flavour.

But eventhough some dudes were tagging around the neighborhood and caused at least one day of powerwashing the damn fish-sales-building.

The belgium Meeting happened at the same spot as in the former years, which is located at a very famous touristic place – Muntplein. Over a couple of days artists worked on huge murals with a total of more than 2000squaremeters wallspace. The precise adress of the Meeting is Muntplein (Muintstraat). From the central station it’s 20 minutes by foot (Keizellei – Meir – Groenplaats -Nationalestraat – Augustijnenstraat) or you could take tram 2 or 15 (station Groenplaats).
Antwerp is a very nice city with a very good atmosphere of internationality, cooperation and communication. The precise adress of the Meeting is Muntplein (Muintstraat). From the central station it’s 20 minutes by foot (Keizellei – Meir – Groenplaats -Nationalestraat – Augustijnenst.

The Meeting was quite cool, like always. Unfortunatley the first two days it was raining. At friday the sun came out and supported us. Artists from all around Europe were quite buisu creating new murals at the bug walls of the Muntplein. At the same time of the MOS a concert and breakdance-session had been held at the St.Andries, a cultural center near by.

By car it is very difficult to go because there are a lot off traffic works but you could try the ring around Antwerp, exit Hoboken-WIlrijk direction Schelde- follow the river direction city center but the traffic situation changes every day. The line-up as far: Visual De Luxe (Luxembourg), TCF-Crew (UK), DNYE en Zone (Denmark), Le Club (France), Porno stars (Spain) UR-Crew (Netherlands/Germany/Belgium) Karski, Zest (Netherlands), Team Alosta, GunT, Wardo, P-Nis, Gulp, Arkis, Steaz, Dré, Jasta Cru, Tggr (Belgium). Concert at Saturday 28th August 2004. The place is the Cultural center Sint Andries, Sint Andriesplaats te 2000 Antwerpen. It’s 100 meters from MOS and its also where a 2nd wall is available. After the area has been under construction for the past two years, it was available again and possible to do the MOS.

	Unfortunately it was raining softly, but all day. But eventhough the vibe was nice and around 60 writers came to do walls.
A master production has been done where about 25 writers from several countries worked together, but also more walls in great quality were done.

Later at night there was a burning party inside the skate-hall with the famous german rapper MC Torch. Eventhough there was only a little sunshine sundays, it was still 800 people who came over the whole weekend.

Beside of the wooden wall which was more than 250m long and approx 2.20m high, there was a stage for music and dance-performances.

The french MOS was happening in close cooperation with the 20th anniversary of Hip-Hop in France – L´Original (www.Loriginal84-04.com) at an industrial area at avenue Lacassagne in Lyon, close to the subwaystation Grange Blanche. The area is enormous and reminds a bit of the old Schlachthof in Wiesbaden.

Huge halls that have been used as a van-factory in the past, now used by all different kinds of artists. About 200 writers (too many tomention them all) from all over Europe came to make the opening of MOS 2004 very special. The vibe was very relaxed, smooth as well as the artworks being done on this weekend. Total wallspace approx more than 2000 squaremeters.

Gomel is the second biggest city in Belarus. The spot: long and high wall (3m height up to 2 km long) is situated on the bench of the river named Soj in central cultural park of the city near the city-center and close the main train station. The MOS started at 12.00 on Friday 06th. More than 60 invited artists from several eastern countries were on line up. Belarus is a quite interesting country. You can find signs of the USSR everywhere, shops are quite different to what you are used to from the western world.

In Minsk there is a special department that takes care about the streets and houses, so you dont get to see much dirt or tags on the street. But nevertheless the scene over there is quite active and does nice productions in a quality you´d never expect.

The vibe during the Meeting was quite intimate, relaxed and smooth. Around 100 artists have shown up to leave their skills. The inhabitants of Gomel enjoyed the MOS as a very special unique sightseeing attraction so families with children, older peeps and a lot couples came along – around 2000 have passed by the event. An After-Party was held in one of the many underground-clubs in Gomel presenting russian skills of Rap and Djing.
